NO Parabens / NO Allergens / NO Silicones

Parabens are used as a preservative to prevent the growth of microbes in cosmetic products and can be absorbed through skin, blood and the digestive system.  At this moment it is allowed to use parabens with a certain percentage (0,19%), but the cosmetic organization is still in discussion regarding certain parabens because of environment and health. For example; skin irritation, increasing risk of cancer.

Our opinion is that it is not necessary to use parabens which are not good for health and for the environment to get a stable product. There are effective alternatives to prevent microbial growth in personal care products.

The term fragrance means any natural or synthetic substance which is used to give the product a smell. Fragrances are the most important allergen in cosmetics. Dermatologists have concluded that some people have a perfume allergy. To help people be able to avoid coming in contact with things they are allergic to,  the European cosmetic organisation identified a list of 26 perfume ingredients that, if used, need to be included in the ingredients list on all cosmetic products.

Our opinion is that it is not necessary to develop cosmetic products based on perfume allergens, so we avoid them entirely. We want to avoid skin problems and make our products accessible for all customers.

Silicones are synthetic substances and you see them in hair and skin care. Because silicones create a layer on the skin or hair, they make the hair soft, supple and easier to comb. In a body product the silicon creates a layer which keeps moisture in the skin and fills unevenness on the skin. Silicones are harmful to environment and they close off hair and skin. This means that nourishing substances cannot penetrate into the skin and hair with the result that skin and hair will finally dry out.
